I love the fact that Semcon has so many excellent experts under the same roof. It makes us uniquely positioned to listen to our customers’ challenges and then put together exactly the right multi-disciplinary expert team to take on their specific project.

To strengthen this capacity even further Semcon’s Division West have created a new role to ensure even better results in our cross-functional Semcon Studios projects. This means I will work closely with all Division West’s departments and support in the coordination of our joint projects, processes and expertise. All to promote real teamwork!

My journey towards product development

I have 15 years of experience in product development and mechanical engineering, creating physical and digital products nationally and abroad, and I have worked at Semcon as lead engineer/project manager since 2021. My background is as an entrepreneur and for years I had my own studio where I offered services within product development to different kinds of companies and organisations. A lot of collaborations together with start-ups, which has given me insights about the early challenges and how to go from first idea all the way to industrialisation, using design thinking and user-centerd product develppment as base. Start-ups are often the first adapters when it comes to new technologies and since I am a curious guy who always want to learn new things, this has been a great education for me.

Examples of some awesome Semcon projects

I've been part of amazing projects since I joined Semcon. For example, me and my team worked on several medtech products, such as drop calibration and communication equipment for nurses and doctors.I have also worked with children car seat and welding robots for heavy industry – this is what makes being a tech consultant so much fun, you get to try on so many different types of projects. Besides customer projects, I have supported students at both Chalmers University and YH-Mölndal in their product development and CAD studies, both as a supervisor and teacher. Learning new things is something I am very passionate about, and I am now responsible for making sure that my Semcon colleagues develop their competencies.

Looking forward to creating the solutions of tomorrow

I’m really grateful and humble for this new role and I’m looking forward to contributing and adding my perspective to product development and innovation on a bigger platform. And to be able to work closely with colleagues from all disciplines. Every day we come together in our inhouse Semcon Studio projects to help our customers create the products and services of tomorrow. It’s a dream come true to help them find solutions to all the interesting challenges coming up ahead within, for example, AI, IOT, XR and sustainability creating products of tomorrow.
