Introduction to Agile project management and Scrum.

Agile project management is about managing projects with agile techniques. By letting the project deliver a portion at a time, we can make quick changes when required and expectations can reconciled continuously with the customer/orderer. There are many advantages, regardless of the application area of your project.

In this training we go through the basics of agile project management and the most common agile techniques Scrum and Kanban. We go through how these techniques can be combined with a standard methodology and how they are applied in the project methodology XLPM.

After the training you will:

  • Understand the principles, roles and processes in agile project management and Scrum
  • Know how you can combine agile methods and Scrum with traditional project methodology and pick out the parts that suit you and your project best
  • Know the benefits of agile project management, but also the pitfalls

Description

The agile approach and the agile techniques includes processes, roles and tools that differ from traditional planning methods.

You get an introduction to a way of working that gives you a project plan in a change-prone environment where the result is developed in testable steps. The working method create transparency when follow-up and in status reporting and can be used in most areas.

The agile approach is not just about techniques, processes and tools but foremost about the people and the attitude that creates stronger employees and more efficient teams, which is a central theme in the training.

You will get to know the benefits of the agile way of working and Scrum, but we will also discuss the challenges and pay attention to some common pitfalls.

We will go through how agile techniques can be combined with a standard methodology and how they can be applied in projects and programs. We also go through how an agile approach can be applied to projects.
