As spring approaches, it is important to keep a check on what plants can be grown where. On behalf of the Swedish Horticultural Society (Riksförbundet Svensk Trädgård) and Blomsterlandet, Semcon has digitalised the over 100-year old zone map of Sweden. A digital map paves the way for new smart functions for people interested in gardening and cultivation.
By making the Swedish Horticultural Society’s illustrious zone map searchable and more user-friendly, it will be easier to find the right plant zone – and thereby find out what you can grow in your own garden depending on what part of the country you live in. Previously, the map has only been available as a PDF document on the web.
It's great news that this unique zone map from 1910 has now been made searchable and easier to use. At Blomsterlandet we see this as the first step of a digital initiative to create even more value for our customers.
